Reason no. 472 I love Rome: this bookshop. Since I first visited it, way back in 2007 now, Rome has been my favorite city. It now has my favorite bookshop. Amici — this place is AMAZING. And I don’t say that lightly. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew this one was something special. “Aha! So THIS is what love is!” Yes, it was just like that. Stacks of stupendous, incredible books everywhere! So many worlds at your fingertips! So many potential lovers! The girl at the counter has the absolute best taste in the world too, she told me I had to read Italo Calvino’s sublime “Cosmicomics” which is actually one of my top 3 favorite books of all time. Regazzi, if you have yet not read Italo Calvino, read Italo Calvino! Her excellent taste confirmed, I had to add another one of her recommendations to my pile.
