The owner of the wonderful @boksalongen in Bergen advised me to visit this bookshop while visiting Oslo and I’m so glad I did! This is a spectacular bookshop, with a wide range of books in English, including many Norwegian and other Nordic titles offered in translation. I particularly love the way that books here are categorized according to region, with separate sections for European, African, and Asian novelists. If I didn’t get to see as much of Oslo as I’d planned during my stay, it’s thanks to the many hours I spent surveying the stacks at @tronsmo.bokhandel. Well worth a trip to Norway on its own! #bookstagram #bookshop #bookshopsofinstagram #norway #oslo
After traveling all over Norway, it wasn’t until I reached Bergen that I discovered a good, independent bookshop. And this one is terrific! Featuring a great selection of Norwegian literature translated into English, Boksalongen is where to go to catch up on all the local literature. @boksalongen #bookstagram #bookshop #bookshopsofinstagram

The Knut Hamsun Center in northern Norway is an unforgettable experience. It’s more than just a tribute to Norway’s greatest, and most controversial, writer but is a spectacular museum in its own right. Works like “Hunger” and “Growth of the Soil” put Hamsun in the upper echelon of European writers in the 20th century, but his support for Hitler struck a rightfully severe blow to his reputation. The Hamsun Center tackles all of this in several fascinating exhibits across six floors. The building where this is all housed is a marvel all its own and has quite a story to tell. One of the best possible places to while away an afternoon or three. @hamsunsenteret #knuthamsun #bookstagram #norway
Bodø’s library is located on the harbor and, as such, offers fantastic views. The views of the books are pretty awesome too 😄
This is the kind of airline-selected reading material I like to see when I fly!
